The Channel Wizard is a plugin, available from the Tools menu as well as the New Document dialog. It aids in easily generating channel code for Internet Explorer and Netscape NetCaster.
Channels provide timely, structured web content to a targeted audience. They benefit both web developers and users. Developers can hierarchially organize their web pages and target different audiences with specific content. Users can freely select what content they wish to view. The content is automatically downloaded to their browser for offline viewing, thus eliminating the need for waiting for long downloads. Unfortunately, there are varying channel platforms and certain browsers will only work with certain channel platforms.
The Channel Wizard walks you through the steps of creating Internet Explorer and Netscape NetCaster channels. The necessary code to bring these channels to life is automatically created by the Channel Wizard, either in a .CDF format file (for Internet Explorer) or the JavaScript to register a NetCaster channel.
